  • Cultural Observation Activities
  • Learning about Islam

In addition, some of the types of things in which our interns have been engaged in the past include:

  • Teaching Children in a Private School
  • Participating in Outreach Campaigns on Remote Islands in the Pacific Ocean
  • Visiting with Children at an Orphanage

What is the Process for Being Part of an Internship?

Step 1:  Express Interest

In addition, You can do this by filling out the form below.  An internship coach then will contact you to get to know you a little bit and to answer any questions you might have.

Step 2:  Apply

In response to you expressing interest, we will send you a full application form.  This form would need to be filled out and submitted with the non-refundable application fee.  If you submit your application prior to January 15, 2016, the fee will be discounted, so get your application in early!  As part of the application process, we also would request you to obtain references from several individuals.  Please don’t delay, as the final application deadline is February 15, 2016!

Step 3:  Complete the Registration Paperwork

Following acceptance, you will have 14 days to make a final decision and pay your $500 non-refundable deposit toward the total expense of the internship. After that, you will submit additional documentation, such as a medical assessment, travel insurance, etc.

Step 4:  Raise Prayer and Financial Partners

We know that the process of raising financial support can seem overwhelming, but we are here to help!  ReachAcross is an organization that believes strongly in the fact that you need a team of people standing with you in prayer and financial support to be serving in the types of places in which we work.  As a result, we believe that raising such a team of supporters is integral to your experience in this internship.  We have built a very structured process that is designed to guide you in this effort, and, again, your internship coach will be with you each step of the way!

Step 5:  Prepare Yourself

First and foremost, you will be preparing your heart to allow God to speak, shape, and form you through the internship experience.  In addition, we want you to be as prepared as possible for the context in which you will be living and serving.  In order to help facilitate this process, we have selected several resources that you will be asked to read and reflect on during the days leading up to your departure.  We also have tried to make this step as manageable as possible, so we will provide you with a weekly schedule of preparation tasks that will allow you to balance the internship requirements with other responsibilities that you may have.  The preparation process culminates in a week of training and orientation in Birmingham, UK, in which you will have some hands-on, interactive opportunities to engage with the training topics, as well as a chance to bond with your fellow team members.

Step 6:  Go!

Attend the week of training and orientation, before setting off to your final internship location!

Important: Know that your assigned internship coach will walk you through each and every step of this process!
