Dr Lionel Gurney (1910-1995) first went to the Red Sea area in 1934. In 1951 others likewise burdened for peoples in that part of the world joined him in itinerant medical work. Later clinics, health centres and small schools increased the scope for sharing in God's good news.
Translation work followed in some countries. Literacy work, bookshops and teaching English have proven popular in many places. Agricultural projects have also been added, seeking to teach people to grow their own food - an absolute necessity for many in the world.
Today ReachAcross remains committed to bringing the word of God and his practical love to the unreached, no matter how difficult or inaccessible they seem to be.
